Parents! Finding yourself particularly concerned about an aspect of Caldwell Road School, and aren't sure of where to turn to have it addressed? Do you have an idea, proposal or suggestion that might improve the learning environment at Caldwell Road School? Your School Advisory Council (SAC) would like to hear from you. We are a group of concerned parents, teachers, and community members, formed to further the goals of the school to provide a rich and fertile learning environment for all students. Among our specific activities are: advising staff and the School Board about issues of common concern to parents and the community at large; seeking to find ways of fulfilling school needs and desires, in terms of equipment, materials and program requirements over and above the minimums provided by the School Board; review disciplinary measures for more serious offenses; seeking ways to ensure implementation of the School's Action Plan; and ensuring community standards and values are reflected in the environment promoted at Caldwell Road School. Of note that we are not the Parent-Teacher Organization, or PTO, formed to raise funds and promote school spirit though a cooperation between staff and parent volunteers. If, for any reason you would like to contact the SAC - to recommend a specific term for action, to comment on a trend in the school you like, or dislike, or to get more involved in the life of our community school, we'd like to hear from you. To contact us, simply send a note to your child's teacher addressed to the School Advisory Council or call anyone of the members of the Council. |
